GRAPHITE SHAFT
For golfers seeking more speed and distance with excellent stopping power, the i540 Players Distance iron is packed with score-lowering innovations to deliver precise, predictable shotmaking. Tungsten weighting and a faster forged face will help you fly the ball higher and farther, stopping it close to the pin on the green. The patented Air-Pocket technology helps to improve sound and feel at impact in the multi-material design.
faccia air-pocket

Maraging Steel Face
The variable-thickness forged maraging steel face is thinner for more flexibility and creates metal-wood-like flexing, resulting in increased ball speed and greater max height.

inR-Air™ Technology
This patent-pending technology features an air pocket positioned strategically behind the face within the cavity, which dampens frequencies for improved sound and feel without inhibiting face flexing.

Tungsten Weighting
Weight savings allow for tungsten toe weights to be fit inside the head along the sole in 4-7 irons. This lowers the center of gravity, resulting in increased ball speed and a higher launch for greater stopping power.

i-Beam Technology
The metal-wood-like construction features an i-beam that extends across the cavity to add structure while also improving sound and feel in the 17-4 stainless steel body.

Player-Inspired Design
Its reassuringly compact size and shape, with a narrow sole and thin top line, help deliver distance and trajectory control with maximum height.

Stock Shafts
True Temper's Dynamic Gold Mid 100 promotes a mid-launch angle and spin rate with a stable feel. The PING ALTA CB Blue graphite is lightweight and counterbalanced for a mid-high to high launch.

Notes

  • These are design specifications that may vary due to manufacturing tolerances.
  • Lie angle is based on standard black color code at standard length.
  • Power Spec Loft is an option suitable for players seeking to increase iron distance or decrease spin to achieve their desired trajectory window.
  • This custom-designed loft configuration delivers a calculated power increase without sacrificing the iron's design integrity.
  • Bounce angles will vary slightly when ordered with non-standard loft specifications.
  • Standard graphite shaft irons will be 2 to 3 swingweight points lighter than shown, depending on shaft flex.
  • Standard Alta Distance graphite shaft irons will be 2 to 5 swingweight points lighter than shown - longer irons will be lighter.
  • Achievable swingweights are dependent on shaft, length, and grip combinations.
  • Available in left- and right-hand models.

SHAFTS

PING offers a variety of steel and graphite shaft flexes to meet your needs and preferences. Choosing the right shaft flex for your swing will help you maximize your distance and accuracy from every shot. In general, players with higher swing speeds need stiffer shafts to maintain a lower ball flight, while players with slower swing speeds need more flexible shafts to achieve a higher ball flight.

The choice between steel or graphite shafts is usually based on weight and/or feel preference. Players seeking a lighter overall weight and/or softer feel in their irons may prefer graphite shafts, while players who prefer a standard weight club with a firmer feel may prefer steel shafts.

We recommend seeking expert advice to find the shaft that allows you to play your best. Whether it's a softer, lighter shaft with a higher launch or a heavier, stiffer shaft with a lower trajectory, a PING Certified Club Fitter can help you find the shaft that provides greater consistency in your game.
