STEEL SHAFT
For golfers seeking more speed and distance with excellent stopping power, the i540 Players Distance iron is packed with score-lowering innovations, ensuring precise and predictable shots. The tungsten weight and faster forged face will help you launch the ball higher and farther, stopping it close to the pin on the green. Patented Air-Pocket technology contributes to improved sound and feel at impact in the multi-material design.
faccia air-pocket

Maraging Steel Face
The variable-thickness forged maraging steel face is thinner for more flexibility and creates metal-wood-like flexing, resulting in increased ball speed and a higher max height.

inR-Air™ Technology
This patent-pending technology is based on an air pocket strategically placed behind the face within the cavity, which dampens frequencies for improved sound and feel without limiting flexibility.

Tungsten Weighting
Weight savings allow for tungsten toe and shaft weights to be inserted into the heads, along the sole of irons 4-7. This lowers the center of gravity, resulting in increased ball speed and a higher flight for greater stopping power.

i-Beam Technology
The metal-wood-like construction features a beam that extends across the cavity to add structure, while also improving sound and feel in the 17-4 stainless steel body.

Player-Inspired Design
Its compact and confidence-inspiring size and shape, with a narrow sole and thin top line, help ensure distance and trajectory control with maximum height.

Standard Shafts
True Temper Dynamic Gold Mid 100 promotes a mid-launch angle and spin rate with a stable feel. The PING ALTA CB Blue graphite is lightweight and counterbalanced for a mid-high to high launch.

Notes

  • These are design specifications that may vary due to manufacturing tolerances
  • Lie angle is based on the black color code at standard length
  • Power Spec Loft is an option suitable for players who wish to increase iron distance or decrease spin to achieve the desired trajectory window
  • This custom-designed loft configuration provides a calculated power boost without sacrificing the integrity of the iron's design
  • Bounce angles will vary slightly if ordered with non-standard loft specifications
  • Standard Swing Weights for graphite shaft irons are 2 to 3 points lighter than shown, depending on shaft flexibility
  • Standard Swing Weights for Alta Distance graphite shaft irons are 2 to 5 points lighter than shown - longer irons are lighter
  • Achievable Swing Weights depend on shaft, length, and grip combinations
  • Available in left and right-handed models.

SHAFT

PING offers a variety of steel and graphite shaft flexes to suit your needs and preferences. Choosing the shaft flex that best fits your swing will help you achieve maximum distance and accuracy from every shot. In general, players with higher swing speeds need stiffer shafts to maintain a lower ball trajectory, while players with lower swing speeds need more flexible shafts to achieve a higher ball trajectory.

The choice between steel or graphite shafts is usually based on weight and/or feel preferences. Players looking for a lower overall weight and/or a softer feel in their irons might prefer graphite shafts, while players who prefer a standard weight club with a stiffer feel might prefer steel shafts.

We recommend consulting an expert to find the shaft that will help you play your best. Whether it's a softer, lighter shaft with a higher launch angle or a heavier, stiffer shaft with a lower trajectory, a PING Certified Club Fitter can help you find the shaft that gives you more consistency in your game.
