The MAX and SFT models utilize lighter back weights, a PING Alta Quick shaft and a Lamkin UTx Lite grip to deliver more ball speed with extreme forgiveness. The shaft length is 46" to promote maximum distance. In testing, players with slower swing speeds gained an average of nine yards with the HL configuration.

To get the most distance from your driver, you absolutely must optimize the launch angle and spin of the ball by selecting the right loft and shaft flex for your swing. Golfers with slower swing speeds typically need drivers with higher lofts and more flexible shafts to achieve optimal ball launch conditions. On the other hand, players with a fast swing speed need drivers with lower lofts and stiffer shafts. PING offers a variety of grip sizes and styles to accommodate different hand sizes and texture preferences. Because grip size affects wrist action and therefore shot direction, it is commonly used by fitters to influence ball flight.
PING grips are color-coded and available in six different diameters; they can be further customized with tape wraps to suit your needs. Once the neutral grip color code has been determined based on hand measurements, golfers can consider smaller diameter grips to help control fades and slices, or larger diameter grips to help control draws and hooks.
