Garmin Fenix 9 Smartwatch

Garmin fēnix 9 – Multisport GPS Smartwatch

The Garmin fēnix 9 is Garmin's new premium multisport smartwatch, designed to accompany athletes and outdoor enthusiasts during training, competitions, outdoor activities, and in everyday life. The new generation combines a rugged design with a brilliant AMOLED display, integrated cartography, multi-band GPS, and a wide range of functions dedicated to training, health, and wellness.

Available in three sizes – 43, 47, and 51 mm – the fēnix 9 uses a sapphire crystal lens, a titanium bezel, and a fiber-reinforced polymer case with a titanium rear cover. The construction is designed to withstand even the most demanding environments, with 10 ATM certification and compliance with MIL-STD-810 resistance standards.

AMOLED Display and Premium Construction

The AMOLED display offers crisp images, vibrant colors, and high legibility, making it easier to view maps, training data, and notifications directly from your wrist. The brightness of the fēnix 9 display has been increased compared to the previous generation, improving visibility even outdoors.

The sapphire lens offers high scratch resistance, while the titanium bezel contributes to the watch's durability without sacrificing an aesthetic suitable for daily use.

GPS and Navigation

The fēnix 9 integrates GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou positioning systems, with multi-band GPS technology to improve location accuracy even in complex environments.

The integrated cartography allows you to view maps and routes directly on the smartwatch. The new map engine is smoother than the previous generation, and thanks to 50% more RAM compared to the fēnix 8, Garmin claims map panning speeds are up to 30% faster. The new perspective view also adds more detail to the route and surrounding environment.

The device features 64 GB of storage, enough to hold a large amount of maps and up to approximately 7,000 songs.

Garmin Epic

One of the new features of the fēnix 9 generation is Garmin Epic, a function integrated into Garmin Connect that allows you to combine multiple activities and several days of training into a single experience to share.

It is designed to recount the evolution of an activity or a training period, combining data and information from different recorded sessions.

Training and Performance

The fēnix 9 offers a wide range of sports profiles and tools to monitor performance. New stamina metrics allow you to track your endurance levels more precisely during activity and understand how effort affects your energy reserves.

Functions such as Training Readiness, Training Status, VO2 Max, training load, recovery, and numerous discipline-specific metrics are available.

The system also supports activities like running, cycling, swimming, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, trail running, strength training, and many other disciplines.

For rucking, Garmin has expanded configuration options by allowing you to adjust the weight of your pack during the activity and set specific goals, with support for loads up to 100 kg.

Health and Wellness

The fēnix 9 monitors numerous parameters throughout the day, helping you keep track of activity, recovery, stress, and sleep quality.

Available features include:

• Continuous heart rate monitoring

• Pulse Ox for blood oxygen saturation detection

• Body Battery

• Stress monitoring

• Sleep Score and advanced sleep analysis

• Sleep Coach

• Nap detection

• Respiratory rate

• Fitness Age

• Health Snapshot

• Skin temperature

• Hydration tracking via Garmin Connect

• Garmin ECG App, where available and compatible

Health and wellness data are intended for general monitoring and not for diagnostic purposes.

Smart Features

In addition to sports functions, the fēnix 9 can be used as an everyday smartwatch. Thanks to wireless connectivity, you can receive notifications, use Garmin Pay, listen to music directly from the watch, and utilize voice functions compatible with your smartphone.

There is also a built-in microphone and speaker, which allow you to make calls and use certain voice features when the device is paired with a compatible smartphone.

Battery Life

Battery life varies based on case size and usage modes.

Actual results may vary depending on display settings, GPS, music, and other features used.

Durability and Water Resistance

The fēnix 9 is designed to be used even in demanding environmental conditions. 10 ATM certification guarantees water resistance equivalent to a pressure at 100 meters depth. The device is also designed to MIL-STD-810 resistance standards.
