WHAT IS A HY-WOOD?

The HALO XL Hy-Wood is at once radically new and incredibly familiar.

Maybe your fairway woods aren't cooperating on ground shots. Or maybe you simply prefer the feel of a hybrid. Either way, the HALO XL Hy-Wood is designed to bridge the gap between the two, combining the swing feel of a hybrid with the distance of a fairway wood.

GLIDERAIL

Three wide, tapered rails along the sole of every HALO XL Hy-Wood ensure optimal ball impact and clean turf interaction. Each rail is designed to glide smoothly across the turf, maintaining clubhead speed and a squared face at impact. They're also extremely useful in the rough or on any difficult lie.

MAINFRAME XL

Every HALO XL Hy-Wood delivers maximum distance with increased forgiveness thanks to the XL MainFrame. The XL MainFrame uses a variable thickness pattern that expands and reshapes the sweet spot for greater energy transfer to the face. Inside the clubhead, Al helped us pinpoint the optimal location for weight pads for a long, high ball flight.

XL HEAD DESIGN

These reworked XL head designs allow us to shift more mass from the center of the clubhead. This increases MOI, providing greater forgiveness and consistency on every shot. They also feature our HiBore Crown Step, which further lowers the center of gravity in the clubhead for a longer, straighter ball flight. Additionally, deeper faces create a larger, more forgiving hitting area.

REBOUND FRAME

Unlike other clubs, the HALO XL Hy-Woods have the unique ability to flex twice at impact thanks to the Rebound Frame. Like a spring within a spring, the Rebound Frame adds an additional ring of flex just behind the face, supported by extra rigidity at the back of the clubhead. Upon impact, these dual flex zones activate simultaneously, increasing the amount of energy transferred to the ball.

ACTION MASS CB

Action Mass CB places an 8-gram counterweight at the end of the shaft, near the top of the grip. The added weight feels lighter in the hand, promoting a more stable and controlled backswing. It also helps promote a more inward swing trajectory, a more squared clubface at impact, and ultimately, straighter shots.
